About Dave
A record of service. A commitment to Ward 4.
Dave in the community
Who Is Dave Thompson?
Dave Thompson is a longtime Oshawa resident who has spent decades serving this community through public office, volunteer work, and grassroots involvement. He lives in downtown Oshawa — right in the heart of Ward 4 — and sees every day what’s working and what isn’t.
He’s not a career politician. He’s someone who steps up when things need fixing.
“Ward 4 is my home. I walk these streets, I know these neighbourhoods, and I believe residents deserve a councillor who shows up, listens, and gives straight answers.”

Why I’m Running Again
In 2022, I ran because I believed Ward 4 needed a resident — not a politician — at City Hall. The response from the community was incredible: 1,169 people voted for that vision.
I’m running again because the work isn’t done. We still need safer streets. We still need honest answers about where money is going. And we still need a downtown that works for the people who live here, not just the developers building here.
This time, I’m coming with a clearer plan, more community connections, and the same commitment I’ve always had: show up, listen, and get things done.
